Brief history of the oil mill
The Andalusian Cooperative El Agro was founded in 1958 by approximately 100 members, all farmers in this town. The objective was to have a strong society that would boost the interests of the farmers and obtain greater market competitiveness, securing better prices for the harvest of olives and extra virgin olive oil produced with such care.
Since those hard times and up to these days, the company has developed favorably and today we count with a total of about 800 members, all of them with great enthusiasm and desire to continue producing one of the best oils in the province of Cadiz and almost surely one of the best in Spain.
This oil mill has been producing oil of an exquisite quality over 50 consecutive years, mostly in a traditional way, but currently it has the most advanced machinery on the market, both in oil processing as in the treatment of olive reception and storage of oil. It currently has one of the most modern and best equipped storehouses in the area.
Olive grove and oil
From the olive tree, the olive and from the olive, the virgin olive oil. The Spanish word “aceite” comes from the Arabic word “azzait” which means olive juice. So are the whole family of extra virgin olive oils Agrosetenil and Monte Esquimo, it is the only fat which comes from the fruit juice and it is obtained in a natural way, that is, by strictly mechanical means, without using any physical-chemist extraction process which could alter its organoleptic properties which characterized this oil. The excellent combination of variety of olives, which predominate in our area, along with the environment around us, give us a unique oil, able to gather the positive attributes that characterize the oils of exquisite quality.
